Have lied for years, that I have grown
and longed for you to make me small
Can I ever be as strong as your arms were
For not only my body they held my soul.

Now I am in my keeping, and I do know much
Except few things you unknowingly showed
The strength comes from protecting someone

क़लाम कभी पूरा न होगा/My work (writing) will never get complete
रहेगी तालीम ऐ मोहब्बत बाक़ी/Learnings of love yet incomplete

kho jaye swabhimaan

banu har kaam ke kaabil
mat karna koi kaam asaan

laailaaj hai ye dard mera
aaraam de hai aapka naam

गर गहराई तय करे है कीमत मोती की/If depth decides the cost of pearl
बाज़ार में फिर क्या बिका करता है ?/What sells in the market then?
एक ज़र्रे पर भी नज़र पल भर ठहरे/If i put my attention on smallest particle
हर ज़र्रा नई कहानी बयां करता है/Every particle has a new story to say

कैद करूँ में ख़ुद को और आज़ाद भी / I bind myself and i break free
जिस आज़ादी में ठहरा वो कैद हो गयी/ Freedom becomes prison if i stay in it

आफताब के रूठों को मनाने चांदनी आयी/Moon comes to soothe the burns of sun
मेरे दर्द का इल्म उसे, मेरी दवा हो गयी/She knows my pain, and that (knoweldge) cures me

दरख्त दरख्त कहाँ सब दोस्त हो गए/Trees are friends not just trees anymore
खामोश मौजूदगी गम्ख्वारी हो गयी/Silent presence is enough to console me

महफिल में कल शाम यारों की बातें सुनी/When i heard my friends talking
तवक्को तन्हाई से फिर जवां हो गयी/Again it raised my hopes from solitude

There are no by-passes in the city of life
destiny demands, life realizes it-self through life

I may regret you at this moment though,
your acceptance is the journey of life

you want my attention and I seek peace from you
can I ever be qualified to write about life?

अनजान राहों से रास्ता घर का गुज़रता है
गैर्रों से हो कर दिल अपनों को पहुँचता है

क्या दिल की कहूँ ये तो वो शय है
मुझे जिंदा रख तेरे लिए धड़कता है

क्या कोई पहचानेगा दिमाग से किसी को
फ़क़त मौजूदगी से दोस्त पता चलता है

एक अदा में तुम ख़त्म कर डालो मुझे
इससे अपनी कुर्बत का पता चलता है

गर गहराई तय करे है कीमत मोती की
बाज़ार में फिर क्या बिका करता है

कुछ भी गर खींच ले तवज्जो जहाँ में
वहीं से दिल एक दास्ताँ शरू करता है
